I was so delighted to see you in my inbox today 💕💕and warmed by the thought of more ease this year. Tell me what you think of Good Grief if you end up watching.
I hadn’t picked a word for 2024 yet but I’m going to right now: Trust. I don’t fully know why that is coming to me but I’m gonna roll with it.
My habit/hobby RN is so basic but may just be the center of everything to me: walking. When the weather is warmer and the sun arrives earlier, I got in the habit of walking before Archie wakes up, but when it cooled off this year I completely abandoned this practice. I still haven’t braved the early morning temps (but thinking about getting.a cute outfit to tempt me) but I’ve been walking after I eat lunch--even for a few minutes and it’s made such a big difference in my outlook and mood.
And I plead the 5th on how I stay social in the winter months ;)
Thank you Kaitlyn! Great word choice for the year, glad you shared. 🩷
Walking is such a game changer. I am a big 'go for a walk' type person and definitely notice when I have missed this practice for a while. I think a cute outfit for the cold weather will do just the trick. It seems silly, but a little retail therapy can sometimes be the switch to get things rolling on their own again.
Awww, I don't think I've seen a picture of Ernie before. Cat brothers 🥹🥹
I'll let you know when I watch Good Grief, I'm a Dan Levy fan so I'll definitely watch it.
I love your word of the year. I resonate with the definition of 'ease' very much as part of my intentions for everyday life. It made me think of the pillars of mindfulness: https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/181973641187037931/. My word of the year is 'empowered', which I have chosen to guide me in living a life aligned with my own values.
I also went from living in a condo in a busier area to a suite in a quieter neighbourhood and I love it! There is also a lovely backyard and last year I dabbled into gardening and I am hoping to have another go at it as well! I tried (but kind of failed) to grow tomatoes from seeds and only ended up with a few but the process was fun and I look forward to trying other veggies or herbs this year. I think the approach of 'ease' is very helpful in gardening to not put pressure on yourself to grow something and have fun with it, regardless of whether you 'succeed'. Watching my little seedlings grow was so exciting even if I didn't end up with many tomatoes, lol.
A hobby I recently picked up is bullet journaling. The type A in me loves it very much. I also recently signed up for a beginner pottery class I'll be starting in the spring!
Wishing you all the best in 2024 and looking forward to more newsletters :)
Thanks so much Naomi! I always love and enjoy what you have to share. Your tomatoes sound wonderful - growing something from seed really does have a special feel to it! Ohhh, a pottery class, it's romantic just saying it. Hopefully it's very fulfilling and nurturing, I imagine it will be. Cheers to an empowered 2024, all the best to you! xx
I never want to not call snow whipped cream again
Hah, yes! 🍦🍦
