I don't have a very big art collection at home but slowly building it with more affordable pieces - I also love finding pieces from local artists. I especially love wooden accents that remind me of the forest. I recently got a piece from an artist named Kimberley Francis from the Sunshine Coast who makes minimalist cedar carvings and love it so much! https://www.instagram.com/cedar.k.francis/?hl=en
My boyfriend and I have started buying a piece of art whenever we go on trips together. Or whenever we have a slow weekend, we will go look at art shows or galleries to see what piques our interest. I am looking forward to slowly building our art collection with all those precious memories.
I also highly recommend checking out local auction websites - a lot of estate sales (or downsizing) happen online now, and you can often find interesting art, including lots of big pieces. It's a great way to collect art that matches your aesthetic or catches your eye, and it's nice for families to know someone else will enjoy it, instead of having to just throw it out.
You’ve convinced me. I started it being like there is no way and then you got me. It felt very similar to the voice that discounts my creativity, “Not for you, Kaitlyn.” But by the end, I was dreaming, plotting, planning.
I love this story, thank you for sharing Gabriella. I'm sure we've all been through some version of Hobby Lobby on our walls, hah! Happy window shopping and wish list making. 🖼️

Oh beautiful! I love how dainty and simple the carvings are. Great tip, wood is a material I didn't think of. Thank you Naomi! 🩷
Postcards are another excellent source of art. Mat and frame for more impact.
Love this! Thanks Marianna 💌
This is such a good guide. I love the tip on getting photographs printed and am signing up for a few of the artist mailing lists that you shared!
