Love love love. Love the bookcase. Love the mood board. Every time I see yours, I get itchy about doing one. This may have pushed me over the edge. Absolutely screaming about this French afternoon you had. Every time you deserve one of these outings, I wish I was right alongside just bopping around with you β€οΈ
If it weren't for the dangerously sharp pins, I would say the mood board could be fun for Archie. But...probably not so much! Oh my goodness, I wish I could transport you here to have a little afternoon with, how lovely that would be! π₯ Thanks so much Kaitlyn.
This was so lovely, Lauren. And I love the bookcase! We live in an old house and when we first moved in, we struggled to furnish it. Everything we tried looked off. We then read an article saying that the style of the house should inspire the decor of your rooms - still your personal taste, but in line with the house itself. We ended up buying this super ornate for our taste bed and our bedroom transformed. The slightly old-fashioned style fits so well in our Tudor house.
P.S Thank you so much for mentioning my annotation guide and the Didion project! β€οΈ
Ahh thank you Petya! I love that concept - letting the house inspire the decor. I've seen little snippets of your home from the photos you post and it looks like it has lots of character...my favourite!! Happy October - Didion month! π€ xx
This was a particularly good roundup <3 My favorite piece of furniture is a tomato red tv stand that I bought in an online estate sale where I broke one of the cardinal rules of online bidding by continually increasing my max price as the invisible person I was bidding against raised their max price, right down to the wire. Extremely stressful but very thrilling! I can't say I recommend the experience but I do recommend buying a fun piece that tickles your lizard brain :) Love your sweet book cabinet, can't wait to see your collection grow
Thanks so much Fiona! Oh my, this TV stand sounds so good - and worth the stress of online bidding. Always fun to have something with a good story behind it. xx
A delightful read as always! I felt cozy just reading this. I saved the fennel recipe - fennel has been featured CSA but I never take it because I never know what to do with it. I will be sure to try the recipe you shared, it sounds delicious! I am a huge Alison Roman fan. Have you tried her iconic 'The Pasta'?! Wishing you a cozy fall, Lauren!
I totally agree, I have always loved the idea (and flavour) of fennel but never know what to do with it. This was such a good first recipe! I've since been using it with celery to substitute onions actually. Thrown it in a few crock pot stews. It's been lovely. I actually haven't tried 'The Pasta' yet - exciting, I will for sure add this one to the fall menu. π
Mmmmm it's so good, glad you're also a fan. Ohhh! Thanks for the tip, I love new fall tunes, Lizzie McAlpine looks perfect for the season. Appreciate it, and wishing you a super cozy fall too! xx
Ottessa Moshfegh is definitely more in the weird-lit category - and maybe not the right fit. Alison Roman however, always delivers. I have tried the stuffing (omg!!) but not the lemony date chicken, that sounds really good.
Oh my, old Provençal banquet tables - yes please. I mean, not that I can afford that or even have space in my small apartment...but one can dream.
Aww thanks Gabriella! I totally know that feeling, I never appreciated real wood hues until more recently. This is actually my first "non-white/grey" piece of furniture lol. I'm taking baby steps away from the millennial colour scale. There is still hope for us!
Margo was my fave book of the month and a top fave of the year! βΊοΈ Also bookmarking that soup resource πππ
Ahhh I agree, it was such a good story! Hehe happy soup season. Thanks so much Brittany π©·
I am just loving this moment for Queen Suki!!
Ahhhh yes!! π

PS. I love September Song too! Another artist I've been loving lately is Lizzie McAlpine

I loved reading your September edit Lauren!
That's so kind, thank you Giselle!
Bolognese is the perfect fall food π
Ahhh, I so agree! Thanks Teresa.
I see the Bambino twins are getting ready for hockey season. Is it to late for Snow White & Dopey, sorry.
Hahaha yes! π₯
