Wow, the paper towel art! 😍 I'm with you on January feeling like an awkward pause. I, too, normally hit the ground running. But this year I let it be slow and unplanned and in the last week or so I've felt my energy and drive returning to me a bit. So, rest is good!

I'm excited to see Sentimental Value. We have a long list of movies that have come out recently that we are slowly working our way through and it's such a good winter activity.

Isn't that paper towel amazing! Ahhh you're right, rest is good. And February is here so we made it through.❣️ I think you'll really enjoy the visuals of the movie.

Welcome to the Swedish-learning club. I've been studying for a year. It surprisingly easy when you come from German, like I do, and apparently easier to learn than Danish and Norwegian. Is there a reason you wanted to learn Swedish particularly?

Thanks for your comment Martina! That's so cool that you've been learning Swedish for a year now. Have you had good success with any specific software or tools? Sadly I only come from English, but apparently it's still one of the easier languages to learn.

I would actually like to move out of Canada eventually, but haven't quite figured out how yet. How about you, what made you pick up the language?

Duolingo is great for English-speakers. For me it was trickier since I have to translate from German to English to Swedish even though German to Swedish would be easier. Babble is a German app that works better for me but Duolingo sure is fun to use! I am living in Malmö part-time and even though everyone is bilingual and speaks English, I wanted to be able to hold a conversation in the native language.

I'm a lover of Wuthering Heights (English lit major back in the day 🙋🏻‍♀️), so I am very curious about the adaption! Have high expectations and also I'm worried they're making it too scary?!

Ohh interesting perspective about it becoming potentially too heavy in the scary-realm. I agree about having high expectations - I guess we'll see soon enough! Would love to hear your thoughts afterwards. Have a lovely weekend Reeve 🤍

Love the multisensory approach to Swedish. Duolingo plus music plus subtitled shows is exactly how immersion works when living abroad gets compressed into daily practice. Tried something similiar with French a while back and the muscle memory from word games like Boggle actually helped with vocab retention. The Wuthering Heights timing is perfect btw, Margot Robbie could nail that feral energy.
