Cashmere Coffee Body Polish
Step out of your shower with a post-holiday glow!
I was craving a good head-to-toe exfoliation so I made a body polish with some oils left over from ASII days. Spring and fall are great times to slough off the old and invigorate your skin for a fresh start. I used earthy organic coffee beans, pretty pink Himalayan salt, sweet brown sugar, marshmallowy-soft meadowfoam seed oil, and exotic neroli (orange blossom) essential oil to create the most luxurious shower experience I’ve had to date!
Just like a cashmere sweater, my skin was left smooth to the touch with a pillowy-soft finish. Almost made me want to start selling products again.
If you’re in need of a good reset, download the printable PDF (above) or follow the customizable recipe (below) - you can use whichever body oils and essential oils you have access to.
RECIPE:
1 cup organic coffee beans, ground
1/2 cup Himalayan salt, fine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup body oil of choice
1 tbsp vanilla extract
*optional 4-6 drops of essential oil
Combine your coffee, salt, and brown sugar in a bowl. Mix until combined without lumps.
Add your body oil, vanilla extract, and essential oil (optional) and mix until well combined.
Store in a clean/dry glass jar and use within two months. Makes two cups of body polish.
HOW TO USE:
Gently buff your polish onto clean wet skin from neck to toe (not suitable for the face).
Leave on for 3-5 minutes, if possible, then rinse off. The shower might get a little messy (and slippery), it’s best if you have a hand held shower head to rinse afterwards.
Keep your jar dry and closed between uses (adding water will decrease the shelf life).
Apply body polish 1-2 times weekly.
Ideas for body oils:
Grapeseed, sweet almond, sunflower, meadowsweet, hazelnut, camellia, apricot, or coconut.
Ideas for essential oils:
Bergamot, sandalwood, peppermint, or a floral (rose, neroli, jasmine).
Buon appetito!
