Oh sweet Lauren. You write so beautifully. There are so many people getting caught up in the #girlboss dream and you are so brave to share your story. We see all the quotes “do something you love and you will never have to work…..” As you have shared you actually have to work harder. You have already risen above all of that rhetoric. Be the phoenix.

I love this so much! The universe is so sassy in the way it guides us to where we need to go. Grazie for going to Italy, thank you for creating a skincare brand and styling photo shoots and writing and learning how to free yourself from hustle culture and take care of yourself and live in alignment with your soul. Without all of this, we wouldn’t have the gift of your newsletter.

Just reading this for the first time 💖 thank you for sharing this story so vulnerably and beautifully. It shows how in tune you are with yourself--which sometimes takes us on a very non linear journey.

Aww thanks so much for reading Kaitlyn! Oh yes, very non linear indeed. 💛 Looking forward to the moment when the random non linear track has nowhere to go but upwards! Hah.

I loved reading this story (one sleepless night...) which mirrors the journey so many of us have either been on or dreamed of because of #girlboss culture. I love how your husband handled this and gave you the most loving, set-you-free response that is a beautiful jumping off point for everything that comes next. Beautiful.

Thank you for reading and commenting Sarah - that truly means a lot.

I made your spaghetti with sweet corn and chanterelles twice this week - a big hit in our household!

Pull up your big "girlboss" panties and put on your "jelly shoes", your first venture may have failed, but you have not failed. You are an amazingly smart and intuitive woman and will get to be where you want to be because "youvegotlauren" on your side and Scott beside you. Tomorrow is a new day and you will be ready for it.

Oooooh man, this was a GOOD read. I found you in Kelsey Abbott's "Afraid to publish" note.

I can really relate to this one....a LOT. I used to live in Jamaica and started a product-based business that was hard AF to run down there because I had to buy my packaging here (in Canada). It was a struggle all the time. Here's the link to the story, however, it's behind my paywall so you probably don't want to read it.

My FAVORITE things about your post:

The name!!!! I loooove A Summer in Italy. It really conjures up feelings of beautiful calm.

And I LOOOOVE more that you found new things you're good at and like doing. I believe everything happens for some kind of reason even if it sucks at first. I hope you've been able to bootstrap yourself into a new life with all this learning behind you! ♥
