I’m Lauren, a writer and creator living on Vancouver Island, Canada. This newsletter is how I keep the art of the long-form written blog alive and well. A space for me to share beautiful things, personal meanderings, and all the books I’m currently reading. It’s a glimpse into my endless appreciation for design and my attempt at living with more intention.
Ideally, my articles will spark conversations and curiosities, connect you with art on a more personal level, and introduce you to fantastic individuals. On Friday mornings (most, not all) my edits are sent direct to your inbox.
You’ve got mail—or in this case, me!
I do not use affiliate links or make sponsored content. This publication is fully reader supported—keeping all my recommendations personal and genuine!
I have a degree in psychology and have always valued vulnerability and honesty. Sometimes I write Personal Essays on topics like failing my first business, choosing to leave Instagram, and turning my envy for those who après-ski for the holidays into a beneficial practise.
The last Friday of the month will always be my Monthly Edits. A popular round-up of what I consumed over the past few weeks including: books I read, products I’m loving, delicious eats, film photos, and fun links from around the web.
The YGL Gallery is my digital exhibition space where you’ll find a curation of artworks, articles, and items that orbit around chosen themes. A deep dive into my obsessions to showcase the wonderful world of art in a creative and approachable way.
You will also find interviews with amazing individuals, an interiors column where I take a closer look into the character and designs of beautiful spaces, botanical recipes, seasonal living tips, and relationship advice (did I mention I’m married to a counsellor who loves to talk about the hard stuff?).
