I'm normally not really into wood all over but I really loved it in this case! And LOVE the kitchen. Loved everything, actually, haha

YES YES YES. One of my favorite celebrity spaces. It is a huge inspiration for me as I slowly finetune my OG, wood-covered, mid-century (which coincidentally was also designed and built by an architect as his own home!).

Thank you Kate! Ohhh so dreamy, love the sounds of your home (and the personalized architect design - what a treat!).

I love all of the wood on the walls and the colour of the wood. It is warm and inviting and looks so cozy. I love colour in a home and am always happy to see when a home isn't all white or beige. That jade green kitchen and light pink bathroom - two of my favourite colours and so dreamy!

Would I want an entire home to myself? I live alone now and would very much like to share a life and a home with someone. However, as someone once reminded me there are pros to living alone, everything is always as you left it when you arrive home and you only have one person to clean up after.

I also just looked at that dining table and was reminded that I have candlesticks from my grandma who passed last year and need to do a better job of incorporating them into my decor.

Awww I love this, a nice set of heirloom candlesticks, that is so wonderful. Thank you for sharing Sonya. I agree, the wood is very warm and inviting - also looks great with all the greens. Definitely pros/cons to living alone. I like to say I would enjoy my own home, but maybe the reality is I would enjoy my own space (like a room or something).

Have a lovely weekend 🩷

This was a pleasant surprise to stumble across such a post. It’s my favourite AD tours ever, also because it’s her 😍 the pink bathroom / green kitchen, library / study are my fav areas! Have you seen the accompanying YouTube? It’s a fun watch 💕

This was a treat for the eyes! I love when people are daring with color- and daring with where they place their antique persian rugs!

Love what a unique vision she has for the space. It’s beautifully layered and makes me rethink a lot of my personal “design rules” because she pulls off so many unconventional ideas so well!

WOW this is an incredible space, thank you for sharing this! I even love the dining room despite generally disliking glass tabletops. And that KITCHEN. I agree entirely - if someone said 'Persian rug in the kitchen' I'd question their sanity but it somehow works perfectly.

Thank you Alex! So glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't going to include this link in the post but I thought you might enjoy. Somebody posted these vinyl Persian rugs for the kitchen from Food52 that are apparently so good (and spill resistant!). https://food52.com/shop/products/9297-vintage-inspired-persian-vinyl-mats?sku=30789&

I love your breakdown. You’re percolating many thoughts for me and helping me better understand what I gravitate toward 🙏🏼🙏🏼

You’re so right about how unpretentious it feels. Soooo warm and lived in.

That green kitchen and soft pink bathroom. 🫠

As I said, this is by far my favorite tour ever. It’s very much our style. We currently live in an Eichler style MCM home. I’ve come in and out of loving it. From an aesthetic perspective it’s total love. From a space perspective, it can get tough. 3 people, one of which being a toddler, and 2 cats in about 1K Sqft can get tight fast. Which is one downfall of the MCM design for our purposes. I feel like if our kitchen and living room were slightly smaller we could have more room in the bedrooms or one more common space.

We’re starting to consider moving homes sometime in the next year or so before Archie starts school. I think if my husband had his druthers we would always live in MCM but a larger MCM here in Denver is not financially feasible. I feel like because moving is now on the horizon, I’m both falling more in love with this home and will be ready for something new when the time comes, but this one will always be so special to me.

You're the best! Thank you so much Kaitlyn. I love that this is your favourite AD Tour, it's probably one of mine as well. She is just so dreamy and effortless. But also like kind of mysterious? Lol.

Your house sounds amazing but I absolutely understand the space thing. So cool that Jon is into MCM! Can't wait to see where the next year takes you and the family.

Have a lovely weekend 🩷
